C.O.P.S. Co-Workers Weekend is planned for surviving co-workers, active or retired, (21 years or older) of law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty, as determined by C.O.P.S. criteria. Other relatives and friends are not eligible to attend.
C.O.P.S. Co-Workers Weekend is designed for surviving co-workers to find support and understanding among fellow law enforcement officers who have faced the tragedy of a line-of-duty death. The weekend offers a safe space to openly discuss the difficulties you may be encountering, whether they stem from your loss or your current work environment.
During this weekend, you will connect with others who genuinely can relate to your struggles and can provide meaningful support and advice. Participants will engage in group sessions with optional individual counseling, all led by licensed mental health professionals who have experience helping law enforcement officials. Support sessions are coupled with wellness activities, giving you the chance to challenge yourself and connect with your peers. Our goal is for you to leave this weekend feeling acknowledged and equipped with a lasting support network of peers who actually “get it.”
