SUMMARY:#GivingTuesday\, December 2\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:WAStateC.O.P.S. is participating in #GivingTuesday\, and your contribution will help us help our state’s LODD survivors. \nIn addition to returning survivors\, we will be supporting survivors of 2025 losses at NPW 2026. \nYour donations help us assist our LODD survivors as they make the emotional trek to honor their fallen officers during National Police Week\, as well as receive tools and support from our national parent\, Concerns of Police Survivors. \nAdditionally\, donations allow us to aid survivors to attend their specific weekend retreat later in the year (e.g.\, parents retreat\, spouses retreat\, siblings retreat). \nA $100 donation will cover 7/10 of a survivor retreat (we offered $700) or a portion of our National Police Week assistance of $800\, for the year 2025. \nTo help\, please visit our website contribution page.  Thank you. \nFrom the #GivingTuesday website: \n\nInaugurated in 2012\, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.\nCelebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday\, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season\, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

SUMMARY:C.O.P.S. Outward Bound Adventure
DESCRIPTION:The Outward Bound® Adventure is planned for teenagers and young adults (ages 15 – 20) who are children of law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty\, as determined by C.O.P.S. criteria. \nOutward Bound® is an adventure-based program structured to inspire character development\, self-discovery\, compassion for others\, and to actively engage in creating a better world. This program is designed to challenge surviving children to overcome the obstacles they face in their lives after losing their parent to a line-of-duty death. \nThis year\, Outward Bound® Adventure is a water rafting trip taking place on the Colorado River through the Canyonlands National Park in Cataract Canyon\, Utah. The Colorado River is a vital source of water for 40 million people. Its extensive system of dams\, reservoirs\, and aqueducts divert almost its entire flow for agricultural irrigation and urban water supply. Outward Bound® will give participants the opportunity to recognize and navigate various river obstacles\, work as a team with other surviving children\, and feel the exhilaration of the rushing rapids. \nParticipants who choose to attend Outward Bound® will not be eligible to participate in Young Adults Camp. A $300 deposit is required for this camp. After the camp concludes and all participants have completed the camp\, the $300 deposit will be fully refunded. If an Outward-Bound participant needs to cancel\, please notify us by Friday\, June 13th\, to receive a full deposit refund. If a participant cancels after this date\, they will forfeit their deposit for the camp. Outward Bound Adventure will be offered every other year; the next camp will take place in 2027. \nWe hope that by attending Outward Bound® Adventure\, surviving children will get a chance to relax in a comfortable setting that is removed from their everyday life\, where they can make everlasting friendships with peers who can truly understand what they are going through. \n  \nFor more information and to register\, visit Outward Bound \nThe registration deadline has passed. \n  \nWAStateC.O.P.S. offers financial assistance for survivors to attend their weekends and camps. \nVisit our Resources page to download the Retreat Eligibility form \nOr contact us at Info@WashingtonStateCops.Org and we’ll email the form to you.
